About Us


BAIROOHA FOUNDATION is an idea inspired by a group of compassionate youngsters, who wanted to help the underprivileged in their own humble way and to be a source of happiness for them. The organisation started its activities in the year of 2015 based in Thalassery of Kannur district, Kerala. Since its launching Bairooha has been involved in various charity and community development initiatives. Its candid activities are spread across the areas of health, education, relief for destitute and homeless and especially support for improving public health infrastructures.

Services

HOPE Early Intervention Centre provides various services like, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology, and Special Education.

Psychological Assessment

At HOPE, we conduct series of interviews and tests to evaluate a child's strengths and weaknesses across many areas.

Speech Therapy

HOPE's speech therapy certainly encourage the kid to cross those developmental hurdles in their verbal communications

Physiotherapy

At HOPE, our highly trained paediatric physiotherapists challenge the child in a loving environment, pushing their performance and helping them to achieve new developmental milestones.

Occupational Therapy

Well experience therapists at HOPE focus on fine motor skills, which are the movements of the small muscles of the body. They help the children to improve the quality of participation in their daily functional tasks.

Parents Empowerment

Women Wing of HOPE with its active 13 volunteers conducts variety of parent empowerment programmes. This includes skill training for cake making, art & craft, bottle designing, paper bag making and pickle making etc.

HelpDesk

Exclusive Legal Cell and Help Desk set up for people with special needs and their families have served hundreds of people to avail various government schemes such as Niraamaya Insurance Scheme and Scholarship from Local bodies.

  • No. All children undergo a multidisciplinary evaluation to determine eligibility. Our experienced therapists along with our own doctor will conduct comprehensive assessments. Parents participation is a key component of that process.

  • Once we recieve the application, we will verify the financial status of the family. During the process we will visit the home of the applicant. Once we confirm that the applicant is from financially poor family and they can't afford the charges of other early intervention centers in and around, then only we will enroll the child in our centre.

  • It is not possible to say. It varies from child to child. One session lasts 60 minutes. Some children need to attend all the 6 days with multiple different sessions such as speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy whereas other children may have to attend only twice or thrice a week with only 1 session per day.

  • This important question is asked by many parents who are considering having more children. The answer depends greatly on whether a specific genetic cause of your child’s disability has been identified.

  • No. We are not entitled to issue disability certificate. In Kerala State, the disability certificates are issued by a competent medical board headed by the District Medical Officer (DMO). For getting the disability certificate one has to apply at the Government Hospital. However Exclusive Legal Cell and Help Desk function at HOPE for people with special needs and their families to help them to avail government schemes such as Niraamaya Insurance Scheme, Guardianship Programme and Scholarship from Local bodies. Separate drive has been conducted to ensure that all children in the centre have received Disability Certificate and Unique Disability Identity Card (UDID).
